It is the time of year when the pumpkin spice begins to proliferate the remaining breathable air at your local coffee spot, but it is also time to start brainstorming ideas for 2024’s Corporate Compliance and Ethics Week (CCEW) happening November 3-9.
At SCCE&HCCA, we give our members jump starts for the week’s planning with the IDEA Incubator: A brainstorming session for CCEW. Armed with over 100 participants, their ideas go into the pool of other ideas, and we build a giant list. Our hope, is that one of them will inspire awareness, recognition, and reinforcement to your respective organizations during the week – highlighting the importance of each person’s contribution to compliance and ethics.
During our last three sessions, we hit our goal of generating 1,000 ideas. For SCCE & HCCA members, there are wrap-up documents found in the “General Compliance Topics” library on SCCE&HCCAnet. But to give you the TL;DR (too long; didn’t read) version, here are the top 3 best starter ideas/activities/games for CCEW2024:
Three “unhinged and unlimited budget” ideas:
- Compliance themed Cirque du Soleil show personalized to our organization
- Taylor Swift ERA’s and Ethics concert in our courtyard (for her next season)
- Cast from NBC’s The Office creates customized compliance annual learning content for our org.
Three “work from here” ideas
- Simulated prison visits by white collar criminals – they tell their stories and how they were able to dodge or workaround controls. Using their “testimonies” we can show why and how compliance works to prevent this from happening here.
- Compliance superheroes – through submissions, these superhero employees are recognized by capes, compliance nicknames, and trophies. An award ceremony gifting them “The Key to the City” or “capes” that are passed year-to-year. Ceremony includes individual walk-up/theme music to present their award.
- Compliance CRAFT and ARTS FAIR! A hotline poster challenge (and prominently display the top three); ethics logo challenge; Compliance short story challenge; compliance motto development; create an ethics mascot; craft table; rap contest; Compliance “selfie” booth.
If you want to see the ideas, make sure to tune in and check out the library on SCCE&HCCAnet under the “General Compliance Topics” community, using the term “IDEA Incubator”
