The SCCE will be hosting its 14th Annual Compliance & Ethics Institute in Las Vegas, October 4-7, 2015. We are thrilled to announce that we have over 100 speakers speaking on over 150 topics, with 8 distinct learning tracks. Over the next several weeks, we will be highlighting speakers and sessions from the upcoming CEI.

Deborah L. Adleman is one of our highly anticipated speakers. Her session, Government Contracts and Relationship Risk: What Every Compliance and Ethics Officer Should Know, will be held Tuesday, October 6 at 4:15PM. Deborah has had an impressive career in compliance thus far, read more about her below.

Deborah, a Director, is the Americas Data Protection Leader. In this capacity, she leads the day-to -day activities of the Americas Data Protection and Data Privacy team at the direction of the Americas Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, as well as Global Legal Counsel, Data Privacy and Security. Deborah also assists with the overall operation of the Ernst & Young (EY) Americas Ethics and Compliance program.

Deborah manages a data protection and data privacy liaison network throughout the United States, Israel, Canada as well as south and Central American countries. She and her team direct Safe Harbor certification/compliance activities as well as data protection/privacy policy management, incident response, communication, monitoring and metrics. Deborah represents the Americas on the EY Global Privacy network addressing issues with Global EY functional groups including finance, markets, procurement and knowledge.

Previous to her current position, Deborah was a leader in EY’s national compliance advisory services practice where she developed and implemented ethics, compliance and data protection/data privacy programs for clients throughout the United States and abroad. She worked with multinational clients in a variety of industries including healthcare, professional services, and government agencies, developing, implementing, and evaluating effectiveness of their enterprise wide compliance, ethics and privacy programs. Deborah has developed compliance and ethics program frameworks, conducted compliance regulatory risk assessments, assisted with Enterprise Risk Management analysis, developed fraud deterrence programs, developed policies and codes of conduct, developed and led compliance training programs, and implemented auditing and monitoring systems. She has developed and utilized compliance benchmarking scorecards and tools for compliance program assessment efforts.

Deborah is the author of “Compliance Program Effectiveness” Published by Aspen Publications, “What You Should Know About Screening for Excluded Individuals and Entities”, published by Commerce Clearing House, “Look for Compliance Risks Hiding in the Registration Form” published by the Physician Practice Compliance Report , “Evidencing Effectiveness of Your Compliance Program” published by The Compliance Officer and “Broken Windows in Compliance” published by the Society for Corporate Compliance and Ethics. Deborah is a certified ethics and compliance professional as well as a certified privacy professional.
