Day one down:
Spent the day with the investigation work shop.
I have been involved in over 3000 investigations in the course of my various careers in law enforcement, working with the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) in New South Wales (Australia), and with my own company.
So why would I spend a day learning how to investigate? The simple answer is one can always learn from different people and the interaction with other professionals.
It is obvious there is a need to consider various jurisdictional and practice areas between countries but as the SCCE extends the international reach it is important to incorporate different approaches to the investigation model utilized as part of the overall compliance program.
Great to hear different approaches – I always take something away from every session I attend. You never stop learning and the SCCE conference is a valuable resource to all compliance professionals
