One of the great taboos of business is discussing salaries with your peers, or anyone else for that matter. And, yet, one of the most common requests we get at HCCA and SCCE is for comparative salary data.

Awhile back we released a salary survey for Chief Compliance and Ethics Officers for healthcare and the rest of industry, followed closely by one for the compliance staff, also for healthcare and the rest of industry. It’s time now for a new survey, and we opened up the questionnaire today.

The last survey contained lots of good data and even showed the value of obtaining a Compliance Certification Board certification.

To make this survey even more useful to the compliance profession we tweaked the questions a bit, and we added a question for those in the US asking what zip code they’re in. We’ll aggregate the answers by state or region, depending on how many responses we get, and you’ll be able to compare your salary to local peers, at least we hope.

I say “hope” because for that data to be valuable we need a lot of responses. So, overcome your hesitations, and if you’re an in-house compliance practitioner, spend some time taking the survey. It’s anonymous, and it will help compliance professionals, including you, see if your compensation is where it should be versus their peers.

We’ll publish the results in time for the 2015 Compliance and Ethics Institute this October.
