I am retiring in March of 2020.  At the outset, I would like to thank you for the opportunity to serve as CEO of this organization for the past 16 years.  It has been a tremendous privilege to lead this organization and work with thousands of talented professionals.

In order to facilitate a smooth transition, we have a succession planning committee assisting in the process of finding a new CEO for SCCE and HCCA.  The succession planning committee consists of:

Daniel Roach, Committee Chair, Past President

Urton Anderson, SCCE and HCCA President

Jennifer O’Brien, Past President

Gabriel Imperato, Past President

Margaret Hambleton, Vice President

Debbie Troklus, Compliance Certification Board Chair, Past President and our Co-founder

Roy Snell, SCCE and HCCA CEO

We are very excited!  This organization has grown quite dramatically since its inception 20 years ago.  The timing of this change works in our favor because we have reached a point of stability that will provide a great platform for the next CEO.  The individuals on the selection committee have over 90 years of experience in leadership roles in our organization.  They know our Associations well and know what we need to continue on a path of success and future growth.  To further support this effort, we have also partnered with experienced outside professionals who are familiar with the organization, to assist us in the recruiting process.

We have 50 amazing staff members and one of the strongest boards in the professional association world.  We have a strong footprint in the US and we are a material player internationally with 17,500 members in 95 countries.  We have a great reputation and our success to date has been quite remarkable. This is a perfect time to identify and retain an individual who will have the skills to take this organization to the next level.

Our call for applications will close on August 20th 2017.   A detailed job description and position summary are available at http://www.corporatecompliance.org/CEO.   We plan to complete the interview and selection process in the Fall of 2017 and onboard a Deputy CEO in early 2018.  The Deputy CEO will likely assume the role of the CEO sometime in 2019.  I will stay on with the organization for roughly one year to work on special projects. Our intent is to make the transition seamless.  To be considered for the CEO of SCCE and HCCA, please fill out the questionnaire with return instructions available at: http://www.corporatecompliance.org/CEO.

Best Regards,

Roy Snell

    • Thanks Ruth. That is very kind of you. With the plan we have in place we will fill the hole and if we are really successful we will go beyond just filling the hole. We want to do this very well.

  1. You will not only fill the position, but will go beyond that in supporting the new CEO for a smooth and effective transition. I have complete confidence in the process you have developed and your leadership.

    • Thanks Donna. That is the plan. And I might add that there are many great people “pushing the rock” in our profession who will continue to keep up the progress we have made.

  2. Thanks for all you do Roy! Today I celebrate one year in compliance. Wow, what a ride it has been. Love all the resources and the opportunities to learn and network. It was a pleasure to meet you earlier this year in MD. Many blessings to you and your family in your new adventures.

    • We appreciate your involvement. We have just hired a new Director of publishing and hope to provide the profession with even more resources. Thanks for the kind words. More to come.

  3. Roy, you and your team have built the model for success! The entire profession owes you and SCCE A debt of gratitude for helping to establish and empower its growth and evolution into the critical role it now holds, and will hold, in the organizational structure, acknowledged and understood by boards, Management, regulators, prosecutors and other gatekeepers as essential to healthy and responsible organizations !! I hate to think where the profession would be today without you and the SCCE as you have led it… perhaps still hijacked by the legal profession, and no doubt a ship still struggling through the chaos and storms created by bystanders and opportunists lacking any semblance of compliance subject matter expertise!! At one time in history this kind of chaos Was addressed by the guild system; you and SCCE filled that gap !! After all this, I have one final thoughtfor you: it better be one HUMDINGER of a retirement party !!! xOXO

    • Thank you for the kind words. I am very excited about the future. We are in the middle of finding our next CEO and I could not be more excited about our prospects.

  4. I have only had the pleasure to meet you once at the HEI conference last year. I echo what is being said about the process you have developed. I envy your decision and hope you and your family will enjoy your retirement
