I always find something great at the SCCE Compliance & Ethics Institute exhibition booth. This year it was the “hot off the presses” Compliance 101: Second Edition by Debbie Troklus and Sheryl Vacca. It’s short, it’s sweet, and it’s to the point. Every compliance professional will benefit from spending some time with this accessibly written and well organized book.
If you are new to compliance, it’s a great introduction. If you are a seasoned professional, it’s a wonderful refresher.
I found it to be a great source of material for building a compliance program checklist that might be part of a compliance risk assessment. For example, am I doing all the appropriate tasks? – see pages 23 & 24, is my job description up to date? – see pages 107 to 112, and so on.
