I am very excited to announce that HCCA’s sister organization—the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE)—has acquired Ethikos, a leading business ethics publication that has been around for more than 26 years. SCCE and HCCA members can now subscribe to the bi-monthly publication at a reduced rate of $125 per year, and non-members can subscribe for $135 per year. I am unaware of any other business ethics publication like it in the U.S. It is entirely focused on business ethics and those trying to build an ethical culture within their organization. Most ethics publications I have seen drift off into social, political, and what I call “save the world” ethics. All these things are important. However, with the limited resources most organizations have, it is important that they can rely on one publication for their business ethics news and information. With this focused publication, compliance and ethics professionals can improve their efforts to build an ethical culture.

ethikosThere will be ethics surveys, news, best practices, commentary, and more. We will pull from the finest, most practical business ethics academics in the country. We will pull from the best compliance and ethics professionals, who have spent their careers focusing on business ethics techniques. We have long been one of the strongest organizations with regard to compliance programs. Because you cannot have one without the other, we are now strengthening our ethics programs’ networking, education, and publications.

Over the years, our own Joe Murphy has been one of several people responsible for this publication. I think I can safely say that Joe is very excited that Ethikos is now in the hands of SCCE, one the most innovative, aggressive, and passionate organizations in the compliance and ethics field. Those who subscribe to the publication will also have access to a significant number of past issues. We are all very excited about this addition to our organization
