So I probably fell into the same pitfall as others that are new to compliance. I thought that maybe I was unique in my position and that there was no one who wore as many hats as I do or that had as little time assigned to me to perform Compliance duties. But when I got to the 2015 Compliance Institute and met as many people as I have I quickly found that instead of being unique, we were all in the same boat. The issue is how to perform the duties needed with the time and resources given. The Compliance Institute is the place to come to share the ideas, learn the techniques and build the networks to be able to sustain the practice of being the sole Compliance Officer. Not only do you not have to go it alone, but you can go with some experienced and very friendly people who “get” the compliance world.
