Communications and Leadership Coach

Kelly Sargeant was named 2nd Runner-Up World Champion of Public Speaking in 2014 after surpassing over 32,000 participants worldwide.  Kelly was the only female finalist in the 2014 competition and the only American, female or male, to place in the coveted top three.  As no female contestants were among the 10 finalists vying for the title in 2015, Kelly has been currently dubbed as the “Best Female Public Speaker in the World.”

Kelly was born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut and attended Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.  She served in the United States Army, where she became certified as an Administrative Specialist. Kelly has 30 years of experience in corporate administration.  Upon completing her service to her country, she settled in Southern California, where she lived and worked for 20 years for distinguished companies like Sony Pictures Entertainment, O’Melveny & Myers and Munger, Tolles & Olson.

Kelly now resides in Houston, Texas where she currently works at McDermott, Inc. as Compliance Program Manager, the President of McDermott’s Toastmasters Club and the Philanthropy Chairperson for McDermott’s Global Women’s Network.  She’s also laid her public speaking accolades as the foundation for her own business, BE INSPIRED BY KELLY.  She offers motivational speaking and public speaking coaching services.  She also judges competitions in which public speaking segments are evaluated, judges beauty pageants, and recently named as the Official Communications and Leadership Coach for Miss Texas USA.  Kelly also speaks to colleges and universities across the country about sexual assault awareness.  She is excited about devoting her professional life to inspiring others and helping others improve their own interpersonal, speaking and presentation skills.

Kelly is frequently invited to speak on leadership, overcoming obstacles, empowering women and setting goals.  She is inspired by her God-given talent of communicating and connecting with people.  Her audience often describes her as “motivating and entertaining.”

Kelly enjoys donating her speaking services to non-profit organizations, such as emergency shelters for women and children, transitional and half-way houses across the city of Houston.

Kelly is the proud mother of two beautiful daughters – who are her strength and inspiration in her mission to support and inspire women.
