Been to the compliance institute? You go to and from sessions, exhibit hall and run into friends and colleagues you have not seen for years. While sitting here blogging I did an informal poll with participants and asked for one word to describe the compliance institute this year. They used words like: training opportunities, informative, overwhelming, fabulous, fun, entertaining, great, educational, compliant, overwhelming, a variety of sessions, enjoyable, people, great products and it goes on. This is a great opportunity for seeing “old friends” and meeting new ones, as well as developing ongoing collegial relationships. I can’t say enough about our great profession and how much we have grown in strength and depth. if you haven’t participated in a compliance institute, change that and come next year. If you have, keep coming…it changes every year. We all should BE PROUD, PASSIONATE and EXCITED to be in this profession and part of such a great organization such as the Health Care Compliance Association!

Sheryl, I was in the Sunday morning presentation you and Debbie did and even though I have worked in HIM and Compliance for 33+ years, I was still learned more. Going to a conference such as this one is great for networking and meeting people who are of similar mindsets. It really helps to know that we have peers who understand how difficult it can be helping others to understand that “Doing The Right Thing” is the only way to go. Thank you for making my first HCCA Compliance Institute a good experience.
