I have been attending the Managed Care Compliance Conference from the beginning and have had an enjoyable learning experience every time. Each year gets better and better. Every session I attend, I take away at least one (usually more) ideas, tidbits of information, or new contact that I can incorporate into my work life (and even some into my home life).
Some of my friends do not understand why I would choose to go to a compliance conference when I do not (technically) work for the Compliance Department of my company. Well, I choose to go to the Compliance Conference because I want to ensure I am doing the right thing. Besides, in my opinion, Compliance is for everyone working in health care–from the physician, hospital staff to the insurance companies. By ensuring compliance in whatever we do, we are helping those who need us get a better quality of life. By the way, I am a nurse who now works as a Sr. Manager of Accreditation for a Medicare and Medicaid Managed Care Company.
