The Chicago SCCE conference had amazing speakers. By far, the “Make Compliance Training Simple” by Ricardo at Broadcat was the best I attended. He brought a new view of training that makes sense as he spoke of training when it is needed (like going on an oversea business trip or conference. We should train to change behaviors instead of training to retain facts. I am taking his advice back to my company and will start to change our compliance training programs. Now I feel empowered to make compliance training something that employees will look forward to taking instead of feeling that they have to check the box.
I very much enjoyed the speaker Francesca Gino from Harvard Business School. She brought the psychology of human behavior into the work place. She really brought to life and showed the relevance of turnover can be affected by the on-boarding experience. We need to transform HR business processes to leverage what psychology studies have proven with motivation and engagement.
I met great vendors at the SCCE that have changed the way I look at training. This was my first conference and I am so surprised how much I learned and take back to my team.
Whoa. Thanks so much, Linda!
Is there a way for those who could not attend to get the information Ricardo shared around training?
Hi Maureen! Yes, you can get the handouts from Ricardo’s session here: http://bit.ly/2dpHufp
His contact information is on the last page if you’d like to get in touch!
Hi Maureen,
I’m working on writing it up since our slides were literally just pictures. Feel free to send me a note and I’ll let you know when the writeup is ready and posted. In the meantime, I can send you the handout we passed out there; that’ll go up on our site when the writeup is done, too.
Sounds good- thanks so much!
Hi Maureen—the writeup of our SCCE session is live. You can get it at http://from.thebroadcat.com — that’s where we host our free stuff. It’s the first document there, “Keep Compliance Simple.”
