Ethics Should be Part of Your DNA if you Want to be Successful

Working with Cambodia, one of the most corrupted countries in the world, I think that ethics and compliance is more than a question of setting the tone at the top or implementing processes and programs. Above all, it is deeply to understand the country where you work and the people with whom you work everyday.

The historical issues that Cambodia went through, are, for example, crucial to understand how to do business in the best way as possible, and how to behave with your peers, colleagues and stakeholders. For me, ethics and compliance, and in a more general way, running successfully a company is about managing people, so training is very important. Ethics should be part of the DNA of everyone, in the every day life, not just in business decisions. So first, everyone, before trying to run “a company of success”, try to run “a company of values”.
