For those of us who have been around the compliance block, it is quite a stretch to explain away why it would never occur to a high ranking, highly confidential, government official not use her personal email account for government business.  A big stretch.

I don’t know how many times in my past compliance roles, I spoke to someone about using their personal email accounts for far less risk of a major negative outcome.  Even though it occurred, it was pretty limited.  The majority of all employees, in a variety of industries, know that for work related business, communications are expected to be kept through the work email account or other organizational electronic systems that are protected under specific security systems.

I am interested to see how this all plays out.  Often it appears that we expect corporate behavior to be ethical, but often unethical political behavior is accepted.  Of course, that is the irony.  I get that.
