I am a general practice, neighborhood attorney with an office in Chicago. Over the years, my favorite part of my practice has been advising small mom and pop businesses on the law. In the last few months I decided that I wanted to try to change careers and go into compliance either as a compliance attorney or compliance officer or analyst for a corporation, non-profit, or university.
Since I did not know anything about compliance I attended the SCCE Basic Academy last week in Chicago. WOW, is all that I can say. I can’t say enough about what I learned and the people that I met.
I’m attending the Institute now and, again, it is another WOW experience. I took the networking and mentoring sessions, a few minutes ago. What an experience. The people were the nicest and gave me some great advice on how to break into the field and how to get a job.
When I get a job in compliance, the first thing that I am going to do is to thank SCCE!
