A vendor’s view of HCCA

I have been coming to the HCCA conference for the past 7 years as a vendor. We exhibit each year and find it to be the best venue to connect with our existing hospitals and possibly connect with prospective customers. In our view it is the best conference within our space of governance, risk and compliance. I have come to know the team over the year’s at HCCA and have even volunteered on a few community projects. The reason for the success of this event in my opinion is due to the grassroots and hands on oversight by HCCA’s CEO. This year I am finding that I am getting something different from the event. In the past, I have been an exhibitor and a speaker. However this year I am fortunate to have the time to enjoy the sessions and network in the hallways. By partaking in the breakout sessions and mingling with the attendees I find that there is a huge opportunity for my own education as a vendor. In just 24 hours I have learned how we can further innovate deeper and be of service to the hundreds of compliance officers that use our policy, contracts and BAA products. I am happy to have discovered this opportunity to network and learn at the HCCA conference. For vendors that happen to read this post I would highly encourage you or at least your leadership to take advantage of this opportunity that at times is so easy to overlook while on the bustling exhibit floor. This new found perspective at HCCA allows me to recall something a fellow exhibitor told me at my very first HCCA conference many years ago which was – “Saud the real value happens upstairs – try to get off the exhibit floor and spend more time upstairs.” I hope this short perspective from a vendor’s perspective is helpful.
