I am a 1st time attendee at the SCCE’s Compliance and Ethics Institute and am really enjoying the meeting so far. Yes, the break-out sessions are in three hour blocks and the day seems quite long, but the material covered is important. I have attended many conferences over the course of my career and never have I gone to one that really made almost everything I attended so interactive. It is hard to get bored and most people here are engaged and genuinely interested in the topics. More importantly, people are very willing to share information and their experience in the sessions. It makes a world of difference on the mood, atmosphere and attitude. I have found the speakers to be leaders in their areas of expertise and very approachable. I am glad that not only I attended but that I recommended and brought a newbie to my department here as well. I think it is important that companies invest time and money into their compliance programs and the people responsible for overseeing them and attendance at conferences like this demonstrate their commitment to staying informed and up-to date with new developments. It also is a great networking opportunity. I hope to make this an annual event for my department to attend.
